Health Technology Assessment

Health technology assessment is the interdisciplinary process of systematically reviewing evidence and evaluating efficacy, effectiveness, cost effectiveness and ethical/social impact on patient health and health-care systems of adopting new health-care technologies.  Our Health Technology Assessments incorporate available medical evidence and is a comprehensive patient centered approach to deliver the best recommendations for the clinical application and utility to ensure the most optimal health outcomes.  Our consultative services are designed for health care manufacturers, hospitals and health systems, integrated health care delivery systems, health insurance payors, patients and governmental agencies.  Our expert team of technology assessment analysts develop the problem definition and conduct a focused approach of research and evaluation to publication of the report to help guide your decisions regarding implementation.

In addition to our health tehnology assessment services we have information technology services that help you to integrate your technology in the most appropriate patient centered methods.

Problem Formulation

The problem that we are asking the evidence to solve and the different methods we use to solve the problem to answer important questions.  Information synthesis, group judgment, information gathering, modeling, preparation of drafts, cycles of external review and revision; approval (performed in conjunction with requesting organization) leading to final report.

Existing information is used to estimate the effect of the technology on important health and economic outcomes.

Operational efficiency and improved outcomes is gained through the use of technology by creating solutions with important information gained from formulating the problem.  StratiHealth helps you develop a detailed plan as well as potential strategies to help ensure success in the future with improving margins and health outcomes.

Literature Search & Data Review

The methods included in a systematic review of all pertinent evidence (not just the evidence that supports a particular position), a critical analysis of the quality of the evidence, a synthesis of the evidence, a balancing of benefits and harms, an assessment of feasibility and practicality, a clear statement of the recommendation, and a detailed rationale.

The application of an evidence-based approach to identifying positions that potential help to answer the question from the problem formulation.

The Clinical Efficacy Assessment (CEA) to write the summary of the literature reviews for the specified topics.

Evidence-Based Assessment

Evidence-based assessments (EBAs) use of research to inform the selection of assessment methods and measures used in the process.  EBAs are used to compile a body of relevant information to draw conclusions regarding a technology or practice and service used in clinical care of patients.

EBAs are conducted in correlation with problem formulation, literature reviews and data analysis for a myriad of clinical conditions to determine the benefits, risks and harms associated with a particular intervention.

Data on clinical utility helps to inform the approaches in EBAs. The assessment should play a key role in evidence-based practice utilizing clinically relevant research.

Clinical Utility & Application

The clinical utility of a technology, service or intervention is a measure of whether the result of that technology, service or intervention would alter the healthcare decisions made by the clinician, physician or by the patient.

Health professional must have a clear and thorough understanding on the utility and limitations of a technology, service or intervention in clinical care that is specific and personalized or patient centered care.

Patient centered care is the application of information to that influence decisions about lifestyle choices, and tailor interventions or medical treatment to the individual needs of eachpatient.
