Health Care Education

Respiratory problems that occur with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and other acute and chronic respiratory diseases, may be the result of lack of education and self-empowerment with knowledge. Our Registered Respiratory Therapists offer education services for patients and members of the health care team; including:

  • Pulmonary Hygiene to improve results for airway clearance.

  • Respiratory disease education and patient self-management.

  • Proper breathing techniques for lung disease patients.

  • Techniques for self-administration of respiratory medications.

  • Techniques and assessment of the proper medical device technology.

  • Smoking Cessation for groups or individual patients.

Respiratory Clinical Services

Reducing the cost of health care and improving efficiencies while assuring better patient outcomes is the goal of every health care provider.

Our Registered Respiratory Therapists help assess and treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Respiratory therapists assist with airway management, disease management and case management of patients in their homes in collaboration with nurses and physicians and other members of the health care team.

The dynamics that exists today has created the need for network development and clinical programs that include respiratory therapists to improve health and financial outcomes.

Disease Management

Respiratory Therapist are specialist in the care and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases. Respiratory therapists are trained in the scientific principles to prevent, identify, and intervene appropriately under the direction of medical physician and extenders to treat respiratory diseases.

The knowledge and expertise of scientific principles related to cardiopulmonary care and the modalities in relation to pulmonary physiology and pathophysiology, as well as medical device technology, allow respiratory therapists to effectively assess, educate, and treat patients.

Our Registered Respiratory Therapists are specifically focused on the prevention, assessment, treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, education, and care of patients.  Their critical thinking, assessment skills, and evidence-based clinical practice focus enable them to develop and implement effective disease management programs under the direction of a physician or nurse practitioner.

Medical Device Selection and Use

There is no "one size fits all" when considering the therapeutic medical device needs of your patient – whether they are portable oxygen, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices and interfaces, a nebulizer machine or invasive or non-invasive ventilation – you need to be confident about the care your patient receives and if the medical device selected is the most appropriate.

Our Registered Respiratory Therapists are experienced professionals who have been specifically trained on respiratory modalities and their function.  We provide training to the health care team, that make decisions regarding device selection to ensure everyone is knowledgeable about the medical devices and clinical utility on patients.
